Boston To Skegness Bike Ride

JCI Boston organised a sponsored Bike Ride from Boston to Skegness - a distance of just over 26 miles - to raise funds for the local Air Ambulance. In September 2007, a horrific car accident made our small town stand still. The Air Ambulance was instrumental in minimising the loss of life to the young family involved. The bike ride was coordinated and stewarded by JCI members on March 9th 2008.
66 people aged from 5 to 78 years took part in the bike ride, they all made it safely from Boston market place to Skegness North Pier car park in times ranging from just over an hour, to almost 4.
We received sponsorship from 37 companies, including several national organisations. A total amount of £11,903, was raised for the Air Ambulance.

Mount Snowdon Climb

In July JCI Boston members stayed over in Snowdonia in a bunk house for a weekend of teaming building. They travelled across the country to climb a mountain ... for fun. The route chosen was the Snowdon ranger which was a round trip of 7 miles, the summit stands at 1085 metres and this took 5 hours 40 minutes.
Not only was there a battle of the elements, rain and walking in cloud together with a spot of mud and rock climbing, it was also physically and mentally challenging. There is a real sense of achievement from climbing a mountain that all the members still feel. As you can imagine members suffered a range of aching body parts and blisters, but it was fun and well worth it.
